Here’s a quick recording I did of my song Shanti Shanti Shanti . I did only one take of each track (guitar and vocals). I would love to record this with a band… here are the Lyrics too.
The wind is blowing softly through the trees.
The waves are crashing up to my knees.
The sun is shining out over the water.
All these things could not be without her.
I’m so thankful to be.
Om Shanti, Om Shanti, Om Shanti
She is the bird singing to me.
She is the eternal melody.
She is the flower. She is the bee.
She is pure love in everything we see.
Om Shanti, Om Shanti, Om Shanti
You don’t need to be aware.
You can find her there.
Bow your head below your heart,
And soon you’ll start to see her cosmic beauty in you and me.
Om Shanti, Om Shanti, Om Shanti
Just close your eyes now and listen.
Open your heart and give her admission.
She can make you anything you dream to be,
Just have faith, wait and see.
Today I was given a great gift. A new friend of mine helped me in ways I never thought anyone could. It just is amazing how quickly people can come into your life and change things with a phone call…
I must say I am feeling very lucky today. I hope I don’t start to become spoiled!
This is Lisa’a newest song… that I am kind of obsessed with. We video taped our first time playing together and I thought I should share it with you all… whoever you all are.
Enjoy
Peace and Love
I know it’s not all the time
Maybe it’s just all in my mind
( but) Sometimes it’s as if I’m wide awake in a sleepy world
I try to breath in all the beauty
But fear I’ll always judge
Stopped believing in god but now the universe has my trust
yes it does
Everyday is just so much
Life just seems too long
I keep finding comfort
In the gift of a song
I wake up it’s an hour from noon
An everybodies already rushed too soon
and we fill our days with all these things
And rush home to be Zombies
I know it’s not all the time
Maybe it’s just all in my mind
but sometimes (sometimes) it’s as if I’m wide awake in a sleepy world
I thought this might keep a smile on my face. So far so good… It was the first successful vocal recording I had all day and I also love this song. So together despite the melancholiness of the song I find myself smiling along.
I hope you all enjoy! (The vocal track was take 20 or so due to the recording problems that needed to be ironed out so my voice is a bit tired)
This is mine and Nathan’s friend Chelsea singing Sarah Mclachlan’s “The Answer”…
The title of this post says it all. Check her out! We also did a song together named “In Your Arms” that for some reason isn’t on my blog but you can find it on Chelsea’s MySpace:
I’ve been around ASL a lot lately. Bonnie is learning it and we have been watching a lot of ASL videos. Nathan also showed us both the website for D-PAN (Deaf Performing Arts Network). I don’t think I would have realized how beautiful sign languages were if it wasn’t for this website (Nathan and Bonnie too). ASL is really beautiful. I feel moved to learn this language because of its efficiency and expressiveness.
Here are a couple of videos that can be found through D-PAN. The first, produced by D-PAN, is the song “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera. The other one is a short film about coming out. Enjoy!
Tonight I did an improvisation for Bad Habit Production’s upcoming production of The Laramie Project written by Moises Kaufman. They put out a request for origional compositions that were in response to the scrict. I decided to try and make something that I believed to symbolize the play. This improvisation is in memory of Matthew Shephard. It seems like so long ago this tragegy took place, even though only 10 years have passed. Let us all pray that from here on in more and more people are raised with peace in their hearts for all others in the wolrd. Enjoy the recording.
When I was in high school I participated in a male quartet. While I was wandering the Friends Meeting book sale display I came across some old music I had sung. I have always wanted to mix my own voice for recording purposes so I thought this male quartet would be fun to try out as a starter run. Enjoy!!
