Nathan and I have arrived safe and sound on our first farm in Spain. The farm is located about 15km from Sevilla. It is made up of a very large family of about 10. The community is made up of children and there parents living in a large house while we renovate it and one other. There are four other small houses located on the property. One of them Nathan and I share. It doesn´t have running water, so we share with Robin our first contact with the farm.
As of now the farm doesn´t have any farming going. It is only concerned as of now with the construction and remodeling of homes. Nathan and I have been breaking down walls and picking up the various trash from all the deconstruction. Today we got to see them build a wall and make a doorway for the house that has been gutted. We learned a really neat trick today for calculating the levelness of two different location by using water in a tube. It´s a great method of measuring when you don´t have a level surface to work off of. Our work day is short only 6 hours which go by in a flash.
Tonight I think we´re going to make dinner… I don´t really want to cook, but Nathan seems excited. ´The accommodations are modest but more than we could ever ask for.
I think we´ll be going to stay on another farm very soon as we really want to learn more about farming.

Madrid is beautiful. We’ve met some people who say that Madrid is their least favorite of cities in Spain, but so far I really love it. Soon Nathan and I will be in Seville so we’ll at least be able to have seen another city to compare it to.
Our language skills need some much improvement… especially mine. I can’t seem to be able to follow most of what people say to us. I’m fine at ordering food and talking to people in conversations that are specific, but having a random conversation is a little beyond my copacity at the moment. I just don’t have the vocabulary to say much. Everyday I am learning and everyday it gets a little easier. We also heard that the Spanish in Seville is much more difficult to understand, but I have faith that at least Nathan will understand.
We’ve really been good about food and have only eaten out four times (two dinners and two desserts). Everything else we’ve prepared. The food here is pretty inexpensive so we’ve been really good about saving money. We’ve even saved money by walking everywhere. The city is pretty big, but if we can walk there in under and hour we prefer to walk.
We also love our host. Carmen has been so kind to us and let us stay our entire time in Madrid. She’s taken us out and shown us around to some great place to eat and shop. She also is helping us with our Spanish and is wicked patient when we speak. Tonight we are cooking her a special dinner in thanks to her gracious hospitality.
Here are some pictures we took during our first couple of days.

I’m sitting in Mumbai for the last time. I will be leaving in about 12 hours and I can not be happier… not about leaving… just to see Nathan!!!
My experience today on the train and the rickshaw were just enough to keep me away from India for sometime. Although I will have to come back soon to visit my good friend Attika. I hope I can come back someday to visit her.
If anyone would like to see what the course is like at the ashram I stayed at please visit the website.

It’s an amazing place and a very positive space for a good price… and the food is amazing!!!!!
All the people I met were absolutely amazing. Each and every one of them is a gem. I was blessed to be in their pressence and learn from all of them. Thank you all! Hari Om!
